REQUEST FOR ANY OBSERVATION OF THE UNIT: The New York & Greenwood Lake Railway (Passaic, N.J.) has purchased Fort Smith GP9 1791, a former Great Northern unit. The locomotive departed Arkansas on February 2, waybilled to the NY&GL at Garfield, N.J. On February 23 the locomotive arrived in Memphis, Tennessee via a UP/CSXT run though train from Little Rock. This was the last official reported location of this unit! The locomotive is now lost, as neither the Union Pacific or CSX have any additional records of the 1791 on their property. The other Class One railroads serving Memphis, BNSF, NS, and IC, do not have any record of this unit on their property. The New York & Greenwood Lake is urgently searching for the location of the 1791. If any reader observes this locomotive, please contact Railpace at mailto:RPnews@worldnet.att.net Via Michael Finfer Bridgewater, NJ
