For everyone's entertainment, here's the last version of the lyrics produced by the ILTP. That's mostly me and m@ Braun, with assistance rendered by Tim, Ben, and several who bailed out when the going got rough. ;-) This may not be the same version that Ben has in the archive, because frankly this had come practically a hobby to m@, Tim, and myself, and was subject to periodic (though infrequent) updates, which we usually didn't bother to send to the archive. The "Version 12" in the header is completely wrong, as well. At best guess, I'd put this at Version 32 or so. :-) Compare and enjoy. -Steve IMAGINOS (1988) Produced by Sandy Pearlman, in association with Albert Bouchard Incomplete lyrics: Version 12 5-OCT-91 --------------------------------------------------------------- I AM THE ONE YOU WARNED ME OF ( - S. Pearlman - D. Roeser - A. Bouchard - ) Fresh from zones of ?moisture? And afterwards the ?mead? With spangles on my long-tailed suits And songs to haunt the one that sings Just call me Desdinova I'm sure to be the lucky one When destiny assigns wisdom Known to me, this starry wisdom I am the one you warned me of I am the one who never, never lied The writing in the notebook Notation from the stars Songs by Desdinova And false warnings from the womens ?barns? :-) Whose sages could not ever see ?His eerie eyes {is in the eyes} and two green rings? Obscure sight and fancy dreams Holy mass - those 13 fancy dreams {trails} {I am etc.} Eyes like bottles And hands in my hair Bottles of blackness The blackest despair I'll sing myself beyond that clock In me two tones will meet Five fingers have I To play them like ten Ten fingers have I To play them again In deperate times, a man oppressed {In ?? chains a mirror craved} Who's words will never, never fly Until they quit those tumbling tunes And enter that system from outside {I am etc.} LES INVISIBLES ( - S. Pearlman - J. Bouchard - ) In the presence of another world You guess the things unguessed In the fullness of another world There is no emptiness In the promise of another world A dreadful knowledge comes How even space can modulate And earthly things be done Your master - he's a monster He will come on a bridge of Heaven Inscribed with a hundred names of God But he can count one more The curse of life eternal Written on a door Your master - he's a monster Your master - he's a monster Your master - he is a monster In the presence of another world A dreadful knowledge comes How even space can modulate And earthly things be done In the fullness of another world There is no emptiness Your master... Your master is a monster Your master... He has dominion over the animals Your master... He wants the world Entrail diviner! Your master... And when the stars are right Your master... He unlocks the door Your master... Behind the door The Milky Way abyss, and climbs Your master... Seven years of labor For the instruments of time Your master... Your master is a monster Your master is a monster Your master... He unlocks the power of the beast Of the Dragon! Of the alpha and omega And all the peaks of Mars The gold city and the stars And the stars, and the stars... DEL RIO'S SONG ( - S. Pearlman - A. Bouchard - ) I've lived upon the edge of chance For twenty years or more And this is what my friends all mean By Del Rio's song Oh, Del Rio Del Rio's Song Oh, Del Rio Del Rio's Song Oh, Del Rio Del Rio's Song Oh, Del Rio When time gets slow, and rivers freeze I think you know enough To come and touch that outer fray: The inner game of Sullen Gulch Which opens up on the way to Blind Man's Bluff I've suffered now of river roads, With quandry and sublime improve, The sight whose imagery is sometimes that of fear Chorus When time gets slow, and rivers freeze I think you know enough To shut the gates of wartime walls And putting up some good rum punch Forget the way to Blind Man's Bluff So packed with eyes that glow like coals And pointing towards the North Our boat left New Orleans In 1829... Our destination is a secret Dr. Dee saw it But just between the birds and me It's a place where you can see Lost lands Luminous, gorgeous skies Never found Relics and jewels, and entrapped tombs [The true ghost dance?] [With her soul?] Repeat chorus THE SIEGE AND INVESTITURE OF BARON VON FRANKENSTEIN'S CASTLE AT WEISSERIA ( - S. Pearlman - A. Bouchard - ) On the terminal point of the cul-de-sac Nations are dying, the (?) are dazed (all days?) From the glare of stars, starry wisdom Owned by the Baron, and he's got the cure A drug by the name of World Without End Come and take this World Without End ?Cue the adventure if it's ready and willing? ?Kill the inventor, ????? ?Ride like the real and real as the rhyme? Imagine this Baron and picture him right Imagine he was me and I was called Frankenstein Carpe diem! Carpe diem! Carpe Diem! He was me, and I was called Frankenstein He was me, and I was called Frankenstein (World without end) Frankenstein Frankenstein! ASTRONOMY ( - S. Pearlman - J. Bouchard - A. Bouchard - ) The clock strikes twelve and moondrops burst Out at you from their hiding place Like acid and oil on a madman's face His reason tends to fly away Like lesser birds on the four winds Like silver scrapes in May Now the sands become a crust And most of you have gone away Come Susy dear, let's take a walk Just out there upon the beach I know you'll soon be married And you want to know where winds come from Well it's never said at all On the map that Carrie reads Behind the clock back there you know At the Four Winds Bar Hey, hey, hey, hey Four doors at the Four Winds Bar Two doors locked and windows barred One door's left to take you in The other one just mirrors it Hey, hey, hey, hey In hellish glare an inference The other one's a duplicate The queenly flux, eternal light Or the light that never, never warms (repeat twice) The clock strikes twelve and moondrops burst Out at you from their hiding place Miss Carrie nurse and Suzy dear Would find themselves at Four Winds Bar It's the nexus of the crisis And the origin of storms Just the place to hopelessly Encounter time and then came me Hey, hey, hey, hey Call me Desdinova, the eternal light These gravely digs of mine Will surely prove a sight And don't forget my dog, fixed and consequent Astronomy...a star (repeat) A star! MAGNA OF ILLUSION ( - S. Pearlman - D. Roeser - A. Bouchard - ) Cornwall, and the harbor Where witches went mad more than once And until this day, in dreams at least The lighthouse at Los Cristobel squatted in the dunes Upon the strand where Grandad's house was built And having stood the test of time The starry gale, the bloody tide Grandad's house all draped with hooks And filled with books Which said no more until A certain prophesy Once read, now stood Before the world fulfilled Now of these books In Grandad's keep Some of them were new But mostly they were old And the oldest was a scroll A prophesy that read "When the (era??) begins /when the lid of the years??/ The story will end" August the first, 1892, in the Guides of Destiny Grandad put "Cornwall, I'm the captain of a ship. My ship is charmed, and called Plutonia." Storms on land, storms at sea 'Tween 1892 and '93 When Grandad sailed from Mexico Ships charmed and ordinary sail the blind path to the sun And when the sun drew false (as it always does) Some of them would be lost And some would sail back home It was no star, but a Magna of Illusion I mean by that a mirror found in the Chamber of Jade Grown like a seed deep within the ground The mirror found by one man So on and off again, he sailed to Europe's rim Alone, off, on, until his time had come Through tears and smiles, the last domain Through rods of broken crystal On and off, and off again Until his time had come Late with the story that had been But early enough to have yet begun August the 1st 1893, the charmed ship Plutonia Sailed like a ray into Cornwall, and none too soon it seems That night the Captain's Granddaughter Would celebrate her birthday I have come a long way, (said the Captain) From Los Cristobel this night Accompanied by my dog, Familiar To blast your rafters with my surprise! Granddaughter, it's a foreign mirror Taken from the jungles by crime! Storms on land, storms at sea 'Tween 1892 and '93 When Grandad sailed from Mexico When the table's collapsed, and drawers are filled And the party's over, it's all over Sea dogs in rockers will dwell on the dunes I've walked the stuff of ground What seems to be is not Behind closed eyes, realize your sight Mine granddaughter proves a surprize More light than sun More dark than night And more (assailed?) than loved... BLUE OYSTER CULT ( - S. Pearlman - E. Bloom - ) I am becalmed in virtue Lost to nothing on a bay of dreams Warm weather and a holocaust The tears of god flow as I bleed Left to die by two good friends Abondoned me and put to sleep On a shore where oyster beds seem plush as down And ripe enough for the Luxor dream Recall the dream of Luxor Our fluids will arrive As if I call those schedules Resuming to the morning tide Where entry is by seaweed gate I planned a plan of dreams To lose myself in rebirth No bodies at all it seems So ladies, fish, and gentlemen He's my angled dream To see me in my blue sky bag And meet me by the sea The Oyster Boys are swimming now To claim me back from the dead The creatures that from vertigo They fear to fall but haven't fell Will reclaim tries and try again The Oyster Boys are swimming now Hear them chatter on the tide Of the lost, in a language lost Hear them chatter on the tide We understand, we understand, we understand And so do I We understand, we understand But flight is real and so am I So ladies, fish, and gentlemen He's my angled dream To see me in my blue sky bag And meet me by the sea The entry to my destiny opens on the bay An instant shaped in mercury Lost before the day An instant as the eyelash out on the tide Imaginos, below this bay Besides... The Oyster Boys are swimming now One deal is what we made The forest keys and whirlwind cold Green keys too, and keys of gold And even locks that won't explode When the skies become a scroll Having lost its interest See, that's the deal we made Just to join the Oyster Cult The Blue Oyster Cult IMAGINOS ( - S.
