Video Killed The Radio Star... Message-ID: well i got kicked off the radio show over a stray comment that i was anti abortion / pro church burning and anti racist and "peace to Blitz" (the place where the radio is). I got in a discussion with some woman over abortion and i said i did not discuss politics on the radio show (strictly music), and i wrote after some follow up "imagine your kid could be Gandhi or Mozart one day, or if you fed him LSD diet he would grow up to be a famous Syd Barrett with his mothers glimt in his eye, as your little prodigy bastard child". Then she wrote i had poor taste and i wrote i was a "quasi Catholic with ideas about being or waste of Semen".. after that the thread was removed and i got a message from Jon Christian Lie to call BLITZ at number so and so.. they said staunchly i was no longer welcome at BLITZ and i had not registered in their members list even being on the show since 1998. I was like duh i am not a serious anti abortion activist even and they said i was representing the radio show with such a view. I can understand the latter but they could have just let me off with a warning? Duh.. so no more radio shows going up on Aural Innovations... or on the air with me... Cheez i will go back to drawing Mohammed caricatures and making Anders Behring nuclear missiles now... Very short version: In early June, I was hospitalized due to necessary spinal surgery. I've been in the hospital or in rehab ever since then. I *literally* only returned home yesterday morning. So, in that time, I was unable (for various reasons) to follow up on what was going on. I'm back now and hope to be at least a little more attentive to what's going on here. [I'll admit that, for the most part, I just deleted most of the email that was sitting in my inbox.] Next - regarding anacondaconan. Previously, he's been on and off moderation (such that I had to review everything he wanted to post). Given the bitching, as well as his general attitude towards everyone else, I've now simply flagged him as "NOPOST" such that he simply will not be able to post to this list. Given that, in the past, I've been nice enough to take him off moderation and, to put it mildly, this is how he repays that measure of trust placed in him ... I think I'm done with being a nice guy and do not anticipate taking him off of this. If he wants to cry about it, he's more than welcome to do so. I'd also like to wish Jerry Kranitz all the best with his endeavors and thank him for all the work he did with Aural Innovations. There was a lot of bands I may never have heard (or heard about) if I hadn't found his website. Scott H. already put his Top 20 list on his personal blog, and we have 3 or 4 common entries, but not as much similarity as I might have expected. Anyway, here goes. Check out some of this stuff as we all mourn the passing of the Great One aka Lem the First aka Bass Assassin Prime. > > Keith H. > ------------------------ From jguizar at STNY.RR.COM Wed Dec 30 18:59:51 2015 From: jguizar at STNY.RR.COM (Jerry) Date: Wed, 30 Dec 2015 18:59:51 -0500 Subject: OFF: Best of 2015 In-Reply-To: <1653373081.5302290.1451511328252.JavaMail.yahoo@mail.yahoo.com> Message-ID: Have some on your list. Don't know how I missed these 2. I'll check out the rest of the links when I have more funds. But the next generation is already here, check out some of this great new music! Out of about 100 candidates I heard this year in the space-/psych-/stoner-/kraut-/post-rock realm, my Top 30 (original, full-length) releases of 2015 are as follows: > > 6. I?m just getting around to hearing, or there?s too much stuff still coming at the end of 2015 to really assess properly. (And I just scored the new Witchcraft from Bandcamp ? though it _technically_ isn?t ?released? until ?2016?. Go figure ?.) Still, here is at least ?a? list of 10 things released in 2015 (I think!) that I have quite enjoyed: ? Acid King, "Middle of Nowhere, Center of Everywhere? ? Amorphis, ?Under a Red Cloud? ? Band of Spice, ?Economic Dancers" ? Barren Earth, ?On Lonely Towers? ? Clutch, ?Psychic Warfare? ? Mot?rhead, ?Bad Magic? ? Mournblade, ?Time?s Running Out 2015? ? Space Mirrors, "Stella Polaris? ? Sun and Sail Club, "The Great White Dope? ? White Manna, ?Pan?. ? ?resund Space Collective, ?Different Creatures" Cheers, Carl -- Carl Edlund Anderson https://soundcloud.com/carledlundanderson/ https://soundcloud.com/espada-negra/ http://www.carlaz.com/music.html
