The booklet does say the sound recording is owned by EMI, so I expect the
band will be paid (there is also a comment I read somewhere that Easy Action
actually pay their royalties.

I will repeat that this is a good quality recording for it's age except for
a couple of dropouts and one distinctly odd sound (as if its a tape that's
been reused) and certainly one I'd recommend.

And don't forget the vinyl is due out just for Mike!

I just noticed the rest of the forwarded material from yahoo
to be clear, I THOUGHT keith said "legit", but I did not pursue the
matter as I am obviously going to buy it, and will face dave Brock
about it if needed!!!

drinking at 6 am sounds great to me

Message-ID: <WED.3.AUG.2011.145102.0400.BOCL@LISTSERV.ISPNETINC.NET>

In today's Grauniad there is a piece about a new music section of their online site. They invite you to "write your review of almost any album ever released" ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2011/aug/02/write-album-reviews ).

I notice nobody appears to have had a crack at Hawkwind, yet: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/artist/5a28f8c2-31fb-4047-ae57-c5c326989262

(Ditto for B?C: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/artist/c7423e0c-ab3e-4ab4-be10-cdff5a9d3062 )

Cheers,

Paul.

That's the beauty of the thing. It might have it's reasons, but I
think this forum in reality requires a fairly sizable manual, and I
would need some cheap reading glasses before I could even take that
on, if it existed.
I can usually still read the content when that happens but it seemed

The message was narrowly classified as spam, mostly because it originated from a known spam source (Yahoo!) according to blacklists used by the mail server hosted by BOC-L. The greatest contributing factor, though, was that your Yahoo! e-mail address username ends in numbers. (The logic being, I suppose, that it is more likely to have been created automatically.) Presumably, if you were just bewlay instead of bewlay68 then your message would have crept under the spam radar. :-)

This is why your message was considered spam:

certainly isnlt for the weak, or faint, that much I know, so that
excludes the sheep, cattle and ostriches, and sadly doesn't leave

By the way Mary, I was thinking- if my cat-bunny-flea-son required
grooming or nail clipping (other than I wouldn't have him), isnlt that
a primary health risk by exposure??
I was thinking if it had to be done, by a company, shouldn't they be
required to come out to the home and perform a massive sterilization
of all equipment and then there's still the horrific fear that their
clothing could contain germs from the previous pets they've been
around.
Also just a random thought- has heroin now been trumped and is there
now a more perfect "whatever drug"??
If it exists and contains none of the baggage of the aforementioned I
think I might be game if it's legal.

Tim is a professional dreamer, by choice, too. Since we can't do that
together with any lucidity, we like to be together in the waking realm. I
don't have the sound system to test the brown note, but I believe all the
necessary testing has been done. I don't want that kind of stimulation, but
since it's all bunk, it really doesn't matter. The past few mornings have
been really annoying, the workers are doing something outside and they wake
us with a lot of noise early in the morning, then it's all quiet for the
rest of the day, and those guys are loud, too. They should have let us know
work was going to be done, usually they give us warning, that was enough of
a sonic attack for me. I'll be up for a little bit, so call if you like.

Love,

Mary

You talk about me being paranoid, concerning the cat? I guess the groomers
need to be sterilized after treating each pet.
Concerning the opiates, the former bass player from Alice In Chains died
a while ago, and he'd been using something called oxymorphone, the spelling
could be wrong. What I take is hidromorphone,(the dilaudid), percosette is
oxycontin, and vicadan is hidrocodone, and percs are stronger, so I'd think
this oxymorph might even be stronger than my dilaudid, but I don't know much
about it, I did a bit of research, and couldn't find much on it, so I really
don't know.

While I personally want it for everyone, including myself, it certainly
isnlt for the weak, or faint, that much I know, so that excludes the sheep,
cattle and ostriches, and sadly doesn't leave much.

DAMN!!! it took her a bit, but she did good. I wanted to quote the
SERIAL KILLER lyrics as having obviously been written for me, and make
the quote "that which flees my truths shall eat them along with their
teeth"
But it is till a matter of finding out WHAT black hole out in space
you and Tim have found and LETTING ME INTO IT!!!!
I am sure anyone who's noticed the Texas heat-wave will understand my
position, and since you donlt seem to have the guts to say "Mike
Savatage SUCKS", I sentence you to point the remaining 5 songs out the
window at the workers in the morning, just as I would do, and did
about 2 days, ago. Nah hit 'em with all 6

I'm only half-here, I had to take ( a piece of) sleep-med to escape,
and I've just noticed I am out of coffee.
NOT a good moment.
Go ahead and tell them about Tim Blakes downloadable 'Southern Cross'
track (or whatver it is you do to get it direct from him), if they
know already they didn't tell us.
Supposed to become a HW tune.

I don't have any control over that kind of thing, if I did I'd be in early
for sound check, and would arrange for a arrange for a concert for a small
few.
I know, I've been away, sorry, it's all relative.

Tour spoiler alert. Don't read further if you don't want show details. As an all out space rock freak I couldn't help but love last night's show at B.B.'s. The crowd was respectable, but not quite a full house. Jim Lascko of Strange Daze fame handled the light show, and had obviously put a lot of work into loading lots of Nektar iconography (album covers, graphics, logos) into his visual library. The light show ran for all the bands, but was stylistically different for each act, with lots of Egyptian themed visuals for Brainticket. Huw Lloyd Langton was on first, and played an all too brief 35 minute set, solo acoustic. He did a bit of between song banter, and seemed to be trying to assess whether anyone knew who he was, or who Hawkwind was. The crowd let him know they were well aware. He played and sang great. Songs included War Is The Hobby Here, Rollin' and Tumblin' (since we were in a "blues" club), Hurry on Sundown, and in answer to my shout out a great rendition of Rocky Paths. I'm sure I'll think of a few others later. After a very short break, Brainticket was up. Joining original member Joel Vandroogenbroek, (not totally sure on that spelling) were Tommy Grenas on bass, and Len Del Rio on keys and synths of Pressurehed, Farflung, Nik Turner's U.S. Space Ritual band, Anubian Lights, The Brain and others. It was great to see these guys again, as I've always really enjoyed their brand of space rock. They were augmented by the current drummer and lead guitarist of Farflung, who's names I don't know. They were fronted by female vocalist Abby Travis from L.A., who provided lovely chanteuse style vocalizing against the spacey sounds of the guys. She had two costumes, one based on Egyptian ceremonial garb, and one more like as Asian courtesan complete with Peacock feather headress. She has a great stage presence, and a voice powerful enough to rise above the wail of the cosmic sounds of Joel and the band. Joel played synths, keys, sitar, and flute during the set. I'm not that familiar with their song titles, but I recognized material from Celestial Oceans and some other early material. Brainticket played a little under an hour. A DJ played lots of nice space rock between sets. Nektar came on at nine sharp and played until a quarter to eleven. The line up was Roye on guitar and vocals, Ron Howden on drums as always, Klaus Henatsch on keyboards, and brand new bassist Lux Vibratos, who is a member of helios Creed's band out of L.A. The new guy is a monster and totally had his parts down. In my opinion he's the best bassist Nektar's had since Mo Moore departed a few years back. The band sounded really good, although it had that first night of the tour vibe, and you can just tell this show will improve with repeated performances. I didn't take any notes but I do remember they played (in totally incorrect order) A Day In The Life of A Preacher, Kings of Twilight, Dream Nebula, Man in the Moon, Dr. Cool, Remember the Future Pt.1. I'm definitely leaving out some great tunes. I forgot what they opened with but it was a classic killer. The encore was a real treat, "Good Day." Nektar seems to be looking good in 2011, and I think the new line-up will satisfy the old fans. Roye seemed happy, excited, and very with it, and seems to still shine with talent. All in all a great night, a great tour, great music, great lights, and in my case great company..shouts to Cyndee,Jeff, the Finally Balanced crew, and the Stewarts. I'm heading out to Sellersville PA on Sunday to do it all again and I'm stoked.

oops, you all knew I meant "Hawkwind-junkie 'bum'" of course

all I know is I once got loaded up with free stuuf when delivering
furniture to this hot lady who worked in the biz, just by mentioning
Smeeton, but apprently the Nektar guy was awesome.
also, what about the Calvert ringmaster out-takes on the 2005 (DTE) CD version??

Thanks for that review Eli, that Brainticket line-up sounds
especially like fun, as if it could cover pretty much all their material.
Was that the line-up on the (relatively) recent new album? It's a must-buy
if so. I see no sign that the tour is coming to Europe; though
Brainticket's site is at least a real trip back to the 1990s, reminds me
of the very first Farflung one, it doesn't contain any actual information
as such, and Nektar's site only has this tour on... How on earth did Huw
wind up travelling with this bunch, though? Any information Harvey? etc.
Yours,
 	Jon

Eli,
great show in Boston, different set from Nektar. Don't know if we'll be in
NY for Gunslinger, I'd love to, since it is on my birthday. We haven't
ruled it out.

Cheers,

Tour spoiler alert. Don't read further if you don't want show details. As an
all out space rock freak I couldn't help but love last night's show at
B.B.'s. The crowd was respectable, but not quite a full house. Jim Lascko of
Strange Daze fame handled the light show, and had obviously put a lot of
work into loading lots of Nektar iconography (album covers, graphics, logos)
into his visual library. The light show ran for all the bands, but was
stylistically different for each act, with lots of Egyptian themed visuals
for Brainticket. Huw Lloyd Langton was on first, and played an all too brief
35 minute set, solo acoustic. He did a bit of between song banter, and
seemed to be trying to assess whether anyone knew who he was, or who
Hawkwind was. The crowd let him know they were well aware. He played and
sang great. Songs included War Is The Hobby Here, Rollin' and Tumblin'
(since we were in a "blues" club), Hurry on Sundown, and in answer to my
shout out a great rendition of Rocky Paths. I'm sure I'll think of a few
others later. After a very short break, Brainticket was up. Joining original
member Joel Vandroogenbroek, (not totally sure on that spelling) were Tommy
Grenas on bass, and Len Del Rio on keys and synths of Pressurehed, Farflung,
Nik Turner's U.S. Space Ritual band, Anubian Lights, The Brain and others.
It was great to see these guys again, as I've always really enjoyed their
brand of space rock. They were augmented by the current drummer and lead
guitarist of Farflung, who's names I don't know. They were fronted by female
vocalist Abby Travis from L.A., who provided lovely chanteuse style
vocalizing against the spacey sounds of the guys. She had two costumes, one
based on Egyptian ceremonial garb, and one more like as Asian courtesan
complete with Peacock feather headress. She has a great stage presence, and
a voice powerful enough to rise above the wail of the cosmic sounds of Joel
and the band. Joel played synths, keys, sitar, and flute during the set. I'm
not that familiar with their song titles, but I recognized material from
Celestial Oceans and some other early material. Brainticket played a little
under an hour. A DJ played lots of nice space rock between sets. Nektar came
on at nine sharp and played until a quarter to eleven. The line up was Roye
on guitar and vocals, Ron Howden on drums as always, Klaus Henatsch on
keyboards, and brand new bassist Lux Vibratos, who is a member of helios
Creed's band out of L.A. The new guy is a monster and totally had his parts
down. In my opinion he's the best bassist Nektar's had since Mo Moore
departed a few years back. The band sounded really good, although it had that
first night of the tour vibe, and you can just tell this show will improve
with repeated performances. I didn't take any notes but I do remember they
played (in totally incorrect order) A Day In The Life of A Preacher, Kings
of Twilight, Dream Nebula, Man in the Moon, Dr. Cool, Remember the Future
Pt.1. I'm definitely leaving out some great tunes. I forgot what they opened
with but it was a classic killer. The encore was a real treat, "Good Day."
Nektar seems to be looking good in 2011, and I think the new line-up will
satisfy the old fans. Roye seemed happy, excited, and very with it, and seems

It's Hawkwind Zoo tracks and is meant to compliment Parallel Universe.

Costs ?1.69 to download and won't be available physically.

Can anyone update on whether these are previously unreleased versions or
not. I thought some were meant to be, but does not say this anywhere on the
page.

October 10 BOC and Uriah Heep will be playing Huntington, New York.
This info is from the Uriah Heep newsletter, and it is not clear who
will be headlining.

I remember back in 1976 seeing Uriah Heep open for Blue Oyster Cult.
This was the show that got bootlegged on CD and on video. It was my
first time seeing BOC with the lasers.

the imprsssion that I have got from comments, is that this contains a
couple tracks in mono, as compared to P.U., and that person's opinion
was that they are better this way.......

Worth a shot (and it's free)

to see some of you there... I will hopefully have a gig report, but then
again I am still intending to get around to posting my gig report from the

In '93 or thereabouts former list-member David Kuznick and I went to
see a triple-bill of B?C, Uriah Heep, and Wishbone Ash somewhere in
the vicinity of Huntington. Excellent show. I was especially
impressed by Heep, about whom I knew nothing at the time, but who
turned in a really good performance. Good stuff.

Cheers,
Carl

Seen both Heep and BOC the same number of times now.

No idea how big Heep are in the US. Last time I saw BOC in the UK they
played the same venue as Heep played a couple of months later, and both
bands drew around the same sized crowd. BOC were on form that night,
and Heep were awesome - a double bill of those two would definitely be a
great night.

I saw the BOC, Heep and Ash show at the Nassau Coliseum in NY in 1993. I
think it was a 'in the round' show. My umpteenth time seeing BOC, but
first for Uriah Heep, whom I have been a fan of since 1980. I was
surprised by how good Heep was considering a new and to me unknown lineup.
This was also my first exposure ever to Wishbone Ash and I instantly loved
them!

I'm no longer eager to see BOC, though about every 3 years I try again,
but seem to always be met with terrible sound quality and a lackluster
attitude of the band. Maybe in 2012 I'll try again. Maybe not.

Would see Uriah Heep again in a minute! And I have a Wishbone Ash channel
on my Last FM account.

That may well have been the show that David and I were at -- it was
in the round .... I honestly don't remember where it was, but ...
