I felt old when I saw Nirvana a few months before Cobain died. I didn't last long at a Slayer/Testament show at the same venue getting mashed by the mosh, what one gets for a free show.

I felt a little old for Nirvana when they broke out, but did take to them,
and never went to a Slayer show though I did buy quite a few of their
records, maybe I was afraid...
nothing at all against moshing, but I've always stayed safely in the back
pounding drinks, and I fear as soon as I get pushed it's a fight...
I do love the Exodus song encouraging it, or any Exodus songs encouraging
it, but of course they probably want moshing done my way anyway.....

Fair enough but if Steve markets my CD player withe the "nude" CD visible
and the beam sexily at a nice distance away from the disc it's reading so
you can see the music getting knocked up by laser-beam and the disc twirling
like an LP but faster maybe with a mirror behind the whole thing , for his
(as Christinan puts it, TASTY digipak creations), then you might have to fly
the gaseo-glider.
Or would their be a light refractory problem?

Stereo version is the same as bootlegged version (brainstorm is short
version).
Will listen in more detail tonight (at work now).
Anyone else got and compared quality yet?

yes and no - there are differences in timings - Brainstorm Mono is longer so
they are "different".
On first listen to Mono though it does (without having the listened to the
windsong version yet) sound a lot clearer and better than I remember and it
is definately worth getting for the clear Johnnie Walker / Brian matthews
versions.
On this topic could it be that they were originally done for a Johnnie
Walker show and then used for TOTP Brian Matthews for overseas use - hence
being on transcription discs. Does anyone know?
Yet to listen to the Stereo versions.

I was trying to get the cleanest copy in the world which I may have already
had (or close enough) with the first-
I didn't spot any differences and despite losing almost my entire collection
I was smart enough to get away with the 2 I had left, and now I have 1.....
Anyway, it's too early for this stuff in Texas but here I am and so is this
version not from a master tape source or is it still lifted from vinyl??
Meanwhile I will read through again and Scott if you do not have the
Matthews tracks I would think the whole affair would be worthy just for
that.
Also Mike, the 10" boot only contains Silver Machine, not Brianstorm!

and I've always thought the Windsong version suffered from a flu, at least
in the beginning after listening to it some months ago, and Steve is saying

I was just out on my long mornig journey thinking about you-

anyway, I've meanwhile been whiffing around in places like the magnificent
Youles site, however confusing and hard to find LP's it can be, and
discovered that Steve reports SM having been on ToTP 5 times with differing
DJ's, so I can guess that SM has a good possibility of being the same??
But side 2 appears to have at least another track so what the hore-hay might
that be??
and would the BBC press up a vinyl that contains commercially available
material??
I think it would be wondeful if the new owner of this LP gets fortunate
enough to get that version of Brainstorm but still cool no matter what it
might contain and just what if maybe maybe maybe it has an unheard "Orgone
Accumulator"??
I certainly doubt this could happen but it's a thought......
I want to hear both shows in their original format....
Wilberforce did make me laugh (repeatedly) but don't be surprised if the
Deutcher Grub is a german tank.... (it never scares me much, I think I'm at
least as tough as my Australian friends), but taking on tanks is going to
require a Scot for sure!!!

I just got finished listening to this over-the phone, and this is a Brian
Matthews programme as Mike had thought it would be. It does not contain a
second track on the B-side, and it has a differing intro where Stacia is
mentioned, and the Silver Machine appears to cut-in already in progress.....
For the moment we are assuming this is an edited version of SM......

I received this note via the Sloterdijk Myspace page. It comes from a very cool guy I met in Philadelphia through some mutual friends The mutual friends moved out and he did not know my last name, so he started trying to find me through the internet. I had lent him a copy of Hawkwind's "It Is The Business Of The Future To Be Dangerous'. In the post script at the end of the page, he makes reference to his thoughts about the album.
