This is exactly the sort of thing that they should just sell as
downloadable FLACs.  After all, they've already done the work to sort
out the audio for the CD, and if they expect to have trouble moving
enough physical copies to justify the costs of another run of 5000
discs, they might as sell you the audio (and a PDF of inserts, if you
want) for 10 or 12 bucks on demand.  That costs little beyond some disc
space and bandwidth.  Kollectors can still scramble for the limited
edition physical media when it's released :) everyone else can still buy
the music whenever they like.
