Technically, he's correct.  The recording is not in fact a bootleg, only
(sub-)bootleg quality. :-)

(Also, I doubt a real bootlegger would have bothered to reply.)

If they lost a bundle on the gig, they're compounding it by releasing
such an apparently awful recording, complete with expensive returns,
damage to label reputation, and all.  That's not very smart, IMHO.
