Well, the Hawkwind limerick competition was for real; it ran in Brian
Tawn's Hawkfan sometime in the early 80's.  The winning entry (IIRC) went
something like:
I went to the concert at Brum [1]
Delighted that Hawkwind had come
But at the end of the night
I was given a fright
By the crazy, bald, sax player's bum [2]
[1] That's Birmingham, right?
[2] Referring, of course, to Nik's penchant for getting nekkid back in
those days.
