Old-time BOC questions

Hi Folks,

I suppose these are mostly aimed at Al to answer, but opinions
are good too.

I was wondering if the more commercial sounding albums of
Al's era (like Spectres and Mirrors) were designed that way, or just
came out that way. I guess a better way to put it is: How important
was it to produce commercial hits back then? I remember reading an
interview with Al from Modern Drummer a few years back in which he said
that around AOF time, there was a concerted effort to come up with a
"hit". I'm not implying that this is necessarily a bad thing, just
wondering if it was intentional.

Also, I hope this hasn't been a thread on the list before, but
Al, what is the BOC song you wrote which you think came out the best,
and which is the one that you like the least?

                                                                Rich
