These are boot EPROM images from a variety of DECserver 700 mod- els. The boot EPROM performs basic diagnostic functions on the DECserver hardware and prepares to request a "downline load" (bootstrap) from a host server. The filenames represent the hardware they came from, although the 23-052EA EPROM is the latest currently-known EPROM version (versions up to at least V7.2 are believed to exist, this one is Version V6.3-0) and can be used in both the DECserver 700-08 and 700-16, regardless of hardware version or whether they support on-board flash memory. The files ending in ".bin" can be used in an EPROM programmer to "burn" new boot EPROMs. The files ending in ".swap" just have the bytes swapped to make it easier to search for text. I am always looking for EPROM versions I don't have, and will pay the postage both ways for you to send me your EPROM (unless you have a reader and can just email me the .bin file). I am offering a service where I will either take your existing EPROM, erase it, program it with the latest code and return it to you for free (if you are in the US) - all you need to do is supply a prepaid return postage label. Alternatively, I can pro- gram a new or erased EPROM with the latest code and send it to you (again, US-only) for whatever my cost is for the blank EPROM (I normally have a few dozen blanks on hand at all times) plus the shipping cost to you.
